Meet Dr. Lowen Dr. Lowen grew up locally in Damascus, Oregon and attended Sam Barlow High School. She graduated college from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She began her dental training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she graduated dental school with honors. She returned to the Pacific Northwest for her residency training in periodontics and she completed a master’s degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. During her residency she focused on advanced periodontal surgical techniques, implant dentistry, microsurgery and sedation dentistry. Dr. Lowen returned home to Portland after her residency, and she has practiced periodontics in the Portland metropolitan area for over 10 years. She spent most of her early career at Kaiser Permanente where she focused on complex multi-disciplinary cases and implant dentistry. She then transitioned to private practice in 2020. In May 2023 she purchased Cynthia A.Layport’s office and started Lowen Perio.  She stays busy attending and speaking at study clubs and continually learning about new advances in the field of dentistry. She strives to provide the highest quality care in a relaxing and comfortable environment. She enjoys working with both kids and adults to help them achieve and maintain a healthy periodontium.She is married to Chris Lowen, who works as a mechanical engineer, and they have two young daughters. The Lowen family enjoys spending time outdoors in the Pacific NW (snow skiing, biking, and swimming are family favorites). They also love to travel to Chris’s native Australia to visit family and friends as much as possible. |
